    Stefanie Demetriades is an Assistant Professor in the College of Communication, where her teaching and research focus on misinformation, new media and technology, health communication, and intercultural communication. Drawing on communication theory, research, and real-world examples, her talk will examine why misinformation is so persistent, how technology and social media amplify its impact, and what makes certain audiences more susceptible. The talk will also consider potential strategies for addressing misinformation and its effects, offering insights into one of the most pressing challenges of our digital age.
