Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 5:30 PMCentral Standard Time UTC -06:00

Join DePaul University's Office of Graduate Admission for the College of Communication for the inaugural lecture in our 2023 professional development series: Agile Leadership Lessons for Rising Communication Professionals: Navigating Transformative Change. Disruptive change has become the new normal. Successful organizations and professionals embrace Agile leadership.

This interactive, online meeting led by Dr. Matt Ragas, director of DePaul’s Professional Communication graduate program, will provide attendees with a foundational understanding of Agile thinking and leadership through examining the history and development of Agile from the worlds of information technology (IT) and project management to functions across the enterprise, including communication; reviews major Agile approaches and methods like Scrum; and examines implementation with stakeholders, including the nexus of Agile, the C-suite and the boardroom; and the gap between interest in Agile approaches and implementation in organizations. Specific case study examples of organizations, communication teams and their employees effectively embracing Agile and recommended Agile project management resources for professional communicators will be provided. We will also leave lots of time for group knowledge sharing and discussion as we plan for the new year.

About Matt Ragas: Dr. Matt Ragas (Ph.D., University of Florida) is a tenured professor in the College of Communication at DePaul where he helps develop the next generation of communication leaders.
