Seminar Overview:
Summer… a time to unwind, relax, maybe even sneak in a vacation. Sounds lovely—until you’re on that perfect beach, breeze in your hair, drink in hand… and your mind drifts to that complex project waiting for you in September, or how you’ll juggle the kids’ carpool with your “new and improved” flexible work schedule. And with so much happening in the news, both globally and nationally, it’s no wonder so many of us feel overwhelmed, anxious, and emotionally drained.
Our ability to be in the present moment, with all its difficulties and its beauty, is rooted in mindfulness skills. These skills are never more important than when you find yourself unable to appreciate what is going right, here and now – and to cope with your mind’s tendency to find fault or worry, no matter how desperately you need a break from its anxieties.
This session explores how mindfulness can help you stay grounded in the present and capture the spirit of recovery. We’ll explore how to allow your “full experience”, including the stress, without being carried away by it. And finally, we will discuss how to take the next step of connecting with your values in order to live a more values-consistent life.
