July Speaker Series: 10 Truths and a Lie About Emotional Intelligence

Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PMCentral Daylight Time UTC -05:00

This webinar will be presented live via Zoom and will not be recorded. Registration is required to receive log-in details.

    Seminar Overview:

The term “soft skills” has been used for years to refer to the abilities that constitute emotional intelligence (EI) and it is a misnomer. There is nothing soft about the impact these attributes have on our effectiveness at work, in relationships, in civic life, and in managing our own growth and development.  This session will explore one key misunderstanding about emotional intelligence and ten essential truths that can enable us to bring it to bear to make optimal decisions and enjoy authentic relationships.  Recent research from Gallup, the Center for Creative Leadership, 6Seconds, and others will be shared to reveal the impact of emotional intelligence on individuals and organizations alike. Participants will leave with an awareness of EI that enables them to assess its relevance to their plans for personal and professional development and resources for learning more.
