Drawing on her extensive experience as a researcher, educator, coach, advocate, and parent, Dr. Alyssa Westring is offering a seminar to help working parents gain a greater sense of purpose, control, and connection as they strive to meet the demands of our new normal. Working parents are facing an unprecedented challenge: how to do their jobs amid school and childcare closures associated with coronavirus.

Fathers and mothers are confronting the daunting realities of remote work, shifting job expectations, and uncertain employment while also caring for children, households, and communities.  The science of leadership can help.  It is possible for working parents to harness the power of this science to guide themselves and those they care about through these turbulent times.

Dr. Alyssa Friede Westring is an associate professor of management at the Driehaus College of Business. She is co-author of Parents Who Lead: The Leadership Approach You Need to Parent with Purpose, Fuel Your Career, and Create a Richer Life. An award-winning educator, Westring shares her expertise on leadership, work/life integration and women's careers in leading academic and popular outlets and is a frequent speaker at Fortune 500 companies. She has two school-aged children and lives in Chicago.
