Working and retired adults with an interest in Latin America or in building communication skills with Spanish speakers

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

• Communicate effectively and establish working relationships with Spanish speakers
• Understand professional and personal opportunities locally and in the Spanish-speaking world
• Develop a comfort level to travel 
• Appreciate the influence of Latino American cultures in Chicago

• Greetings and farewells
• Nouns and articles
• Present tense of "ser"
• Present tense of regular "AR verbs"
• Present tense of "estar"​​​​​​​
• Numbers 0-100​​​​​​​
• ​​​​​​​Telling time and places​​​​​​​
• Pronouns and adjectives

Are grades given in this workshop series?
Students will receive assessment on a pass-fail basis.

How is student progress assessed?
The instructor will evaluate students' performance on homework assignments and oral presentations.
